Sept 16

Hola,

Life is pretty good right now besides that fact that I am running out of kleenex and don't know where my  pseudoephed went.  Have a cold but am on the upward climb now.  Sister Harris was really sick this week so we did not get much work done.  Mostly taking it easy for a couple of days while she slept and I wrote letters and studied.  Mom I hope you got yours.  It's kind of long.  :)  We did get three new investigators  and had two investigators handed off to us this week!  Five more people to teach that are actually in our area!  Miracle!  The family of three have had missionaries before in Boise and the dad just had a military friend commit suicide.  They said we can come by this week on Wednesday.  Plan of Salvation.  The other two are a 9 year old girl named Chloe and a 12 year old boy named Treyson.  Brother and sister.  There mom is less active and they have been going to the ward in Burly with their grandparents when they are with their dad on every other weekend.  They go to school in Jerome though so they need to be baptized over here.  They have had all the lessons already so we just need to find out their concerns besides not knowing anyone in the Jerome ward yet.  They love parquore and did some for us.  Super fun to watch.  :)  They were jumping over a stool and climbing their basketball hoop.  They are still working on it...  Chloe is a total tomboy besides the fact that some of her hair is died pink.  They kept showing us pictures of their dogs on their phones.  Going to be tough to get them to focus in lessons but we can do it!

Had stake conference this last weekend.  Guess the focus?  Missionary work!!!  Think I've got that part covered right now but we shall see if anything starts happening.  Hope so.  :)  We went to the adult session on Saturday night and got asked if we could join the choir the next morning for the other session.  So it turned into a combined Jerome 3rd ward and missionary choir.  Pretty fun except I could not breath through my nose so I sounded funny the whole time.  :P  At least I tried and did not have to blow my nose in the middle of the songs.  Miracle.  Also at stake conference we got some bad news.  Sister Suitter is friends with Sister Harris' mom and told us that Sister Harris' grandmother has breast cancer.  She's sad but can't do anything about it.  She's not a very open or touchy person so not quite sure what I can do to help her except pray for her.

I was slightly delirious when I was getting sick.  Sister Harris was really delirious and even blacked out while sick this week.  She's better now.  Hallelujah.

Well, I love you all.

Sept 9

Hello my wonderful family!

We got a new investigator named Timberly this week!  She grew up going to YW activities so she has a little bit of background.  :)  Going to teach her on Tuesday.  We got two baptismal dates set last week!  One for September 21st and the 28th.  Marcy and Sarah.  Marcy is a mom with 3 little kids and an alcoholic husband.  She knows the Book of Mormon is real and really wants the gift of the Holy Ghost.  She's even finished all the lessons.  Just needs to take the next step.  :)  Sarah is Hispanic and her son Jose (10 years old) is taking the lessons with her but only she will commit to a date.  They both went to church!!!  :D  Miracle!

The work is really slow but it feels like it is going to be picking up really soon.  All five of our progressing investigators (Including Marcy and Sarah) are not in our area.  :O  They requested sisters so we got to teach them.  :)  But we will be getting three investigators who want to be baptized that the Elders were teaching in our area.  (They didn't know because it's across the street from their area and their teaching records were in their area book...  Give and take, we teach in their area and they teach in ours.)  Chole, Treyson and Dakota.  Hopefully we get to meet them soon.

What really helps getting into family history is if you go to the family history center and have someone walk you through Family Tree.  It's really easy and helps you not get really frustrated.  President Cannon had us all get trained in it for a district meeting a few transfers ago.  Then you can do it by yourself from home after that.  Are you going to do the sealings I sent you?  I can't do them because missionaries can't be sealed as a spouse, only as children.  Weird eh?  And I think most of them are guys.  Another slight complication.

Love,

P.S. Mom, your letter is almost done!  :)

Sept 2

You guys are awesome.  Your email made me laugh tons.  :)  We got miles today!   The Jerome sisters were kicked out of their house for a week and a half because the lady we live with was having a family reunion and did not want missionaries there so they were living in Twin Falls and had to commute every day.  An extra 30 or more miles a day so we were really low.  Walked about 12 miles last week and still went over a little, but President Curtis said it would be okay.
Crossfit is  crazy but it works.  Maybe if you do it for 5 years you can beat Dad once, then Dad will start doing it and you will never win again Spencer.  Dundundunnnnn...
So we have 5 progressing investigators who want to get baptized who are technically not in our area.  And one investigator the spanish sisters passed on to us that we have still never met.  She keeps cancelling.  No one in Jerome answers their door (well maybe two in a day) so we are using the avenue of the phone now.  We called every less active in our three wards and about 5 answered their phones and two of those said not interested.  But we got one appointment and two "call again laters."  Progress!  We also have housing inspection on Tuesday.  Fun times.  Also, Kendal back in Rupert got baptised!  Yay!  I got to teach him all but the last lesson.  So proud of Sister Eppel, training at 9 weeks and baptizing our investigators.  :)

Love you all, and the letters from Emily (*cough* I mean Limy *cough*) were hilarious.  You are all the best.  Hope the 21 Day Challenge goes well for you and you don't have to keep restarting like Sister Eppel did because she forgot to pray every once and a while.  :)
Love,
